After being completely frustrated with one set of headphones after another, I finally spent what was, to me, a goodly amount for a good gaming set. Of course, the dual connectors didn’t play well the with various phones I have, so I was expecting to have to shell out even more for another set.
Now, instead of spending way too much, I spent under $15 and get to multi-use the headphones I like on ‘puters and phones. A good deal all around.

I’ll get the negative stuff out of the way quickly. Going in, I thought the product was overpriced. After all it is a basic wire with basic connectors. Wanting to tidy up my desk, I sucked it up and bought. Honestly, I would have rated the product a lot higher if the packaging weren’t so shoddy. The printed insert was barely legible because the printing was so badly blurred. The connector was a little too big for my phone. I shaved it down with a bastard file. It now works as I expected. What would be even better is if I could keep my headset plugged into to my computer and phone at the same time. Switching is easy, but it would approach perfection if switching wasn’t necessary.

the product isn’t totally completely clear from the description and i thought this was a PC > 3.5mm main cord that i could use for my smartphone (a blackberry) and then would have an extra little single adapter for changing any old 2.5mm phone headsets to 3.5mm. neat. otherwise why would i buy this combo pack? if i was only looking to go from PC to 3.5mm i’d just buy that cord alone which is $1 less and doesn’t require my connecting 3 cords together like this one does.
and as you can guess this is in fact just a PC > 2.5mm converter (which you can also get that sells alone for $4 less, so if you want that buy that) plus an adapter to then convert that 2.5mm ending to a 3.5mm one that then goes into your smartphone. but if you want a PC > 3.5mm converter (which sells alone for $1 less) buy that, not this (and it also requires one fewer connection as mentioned). this doesn’t have any use if your primary interest is the 3.5mm opening in your smartphone (blackberry, iphone, etc.).
